Celebrations and Commemoration Days of the Elves.

Neirume (Day of the Cherry Blossom)

A pure elvish commemoration day which is celebrated at the end of Zhas or in the beginning of Ushos, depending on the beginning of the cherry blossom. It brings back to mind the secession of the House Narníl, whose names were since then extinguished from the annals of the elves and are called “erume-lie”. Due to the similarity of the names in the elvish tongue and them being a symbol of transience, the leaves of cherry blossoms (Neirume) are spread in streams and rivers, accompanied by songs and chants.
Below, one of these chants is taken as an example:

To the river I walk alone,
to scoop up some water.
All around me soft like snow,
the leaves of the cherry blossom are falling.
With graceful ease they float thither,
in their perishing beauty.
The water carries away the white grandeur,
followed by my heart.
Shivering the empty branches tremble,
I feel chilly in the wind.
